The infraspinatus is one of the 4 muscles comprising the rotator cuff (SITS). Learn all this and much more at Show Up Fitness.

Origin: Infraspinous Fossa


Insertion: Greater Tuberosity of the Humerus

Action: (1) Stabilize the head of the humerus into the glenoid cavity, (2) External Rotation, Horizontal abduction, Extension. (stabilization of the glenohumeral joint is the primary role of each rotator cuff muscle).
