Muscle of the Day: Infraspinatus (second muscle of the Rotator Cuff muscles SITS.) Inferior = below.
Origin: Infraspinous Fossa
Insertion: Greater Tuberosity of the Humerus
Action: (1) Stabilize the head of the humerus into the glenoid cavity, (2) External Rotation, Horizontal abduction, Extension. (stabilization of the glenohumeral joint is the primary role of each rotator cuff muscle).
