SUF-CPT
To become a personal trainer (SUF-CPT), you need to know the four muscles of the quadriceps.
The quadriceps are NOT A MUSCLE, it's a group of 4-muscles:
1- Vastus Medialis (tear drop – don't you dare call it the VMO unless you can't get a refund for NASM and need to pass the NASM-CPT w/ the Show Up Fitness NASM GUIDE HERE)
2- Vastus Lateralis – outside quad muscle
3- Vastus Intermedius – deep to the Rectus Femoris, in-between the lateralis and medialis.
4- Rectus Femoris – The only biarticulate quad muscle which crosses the hip and knee joint.
The RF is a hip flexor and knee extensor; all of the vastus muscles ONLY extend the quad.
